Save a life and expand your four-legged family - just in time for summer. With over 75 spay/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped pets available for immediate adoption, you're sure to find your new "BFF" at this special event!

It will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 7, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Anderson Animal Shelter's Bloomingdale Adoption Center, located inside Petco on Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale.

"With the event landing so close to the Fourth of July, we want to let local veterans know about our veterans' program. Anderson offers a veterans' discount on all adoption fees for our nation's servicemen and women and will soon introduce expanded volunteer programming tailored to and coordinated by veterans," said Beth Drake-Foster, chief executive officer for Anderson Animal Shelter. "More information will soon be available on our website and through partnerships with established veterans' programs throughout the area."

This special event is made possible through a partnership with Petco and the Petco Foundation.

Approximately 30 animals are usually housed at the Bloomingdale Adoption Center which is open 7 days a week. All animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. Each adoption comes with a free vet exam from a participating clinic and one month of free pet health insurance.
