Glenbard students selected for music All State Festival

Several Glenbard District 87 students were selected to perform in the All State Festival as part of the Illinois Music Educators Association Conference next month. They were chosen based on a rigorous audition procedure of etudes, musical excerpts, scales, triads, sight-reading, video and music submissions.

More than 12,000 high students throughout the state participate in the audition process to All-State, and Glenbard is fortunate to have so many students selected to participate. Congratulations to the following students:

Glenbard East students: Ethan Prado - All-State Composer Rush Hour - Large Instrumental Ensemble Honorable Mention and percussion in band, Sara Austin -double bass in orchestra, Isabella Cisneros - flute in orchestra, Maddie Novak - soprano 2 in All-State Chorus, Abby Schaub - alto 1 in Honors All-State Chorus, Graeme Leighton - tenor in All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Mariah Vance - Future Music Educator Seminar;

Glenbard South students Tristan Arlos - tenor in Choir and Emma Jones - French horn in band; Glenbard West students Matt Yaniz - Honors All-State Chorus tenor II, Erin Villmow - Future Music Educator Seminar, and Ben Hoppe - All-State Composer ("Ave Maria" for Vocal Ensemble - 1st place, "Demain Des Laube" for Vocal Solo to Chamber Ensemble - 1st place).
