Alma Dance Theater's "Nutcracker" is unique because of its Cuban heritage and high caliber dancers. The Cuban style of ballet is one of flair and vivacious attitude, dancers bare their souls and their love of movement is tangible and contagious. The company's show is comparable to performances presented by other professional companies in large cities, however, they pride ourselves on being accessible to audiences in the suburbs. Every year, they present a superb production, resplendent with wonderful dancing, elegant scenery, and exceptional costumes.

"The Nutcracker" is a fantastic opportunity for Alma Dance Theater to collaborate with Alma Dance School and give students the marvelous opportunity to share the stage with professional principal dancers. Unique to this production is the inclusion of children with special needs in the actual performance.

Thirteen children will be given the opportunity to dance in a piece during the second act that is specifically choreographed just for them. Their dream is that this experience will become an annual one; one that brings the soul, joy, and magic of classical ballet to extraordinary children.
