Glenbard Parent Series event: Extinguishing Challenging Behaviors and Anxiety

The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families will present Dousing the Flame: Extinguishing Challenging Behaviors and Anxiety with M. Joann Wright at noon Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The teen years are an ideal time for behavioral interventions that teach young people who are defiant or anxious new patterns of response. Wright will help parents recognize if they are reinforcing or extinguishing unwanted behaviors in their children. This presentation will provide parents with strategies to alter negative thinking and behavior and reinforce calmer, healthier responses in their children.

This program will begin at noon Oct. 3 in the Community Consolidated School District 93 Administration Center, 230 Covington Drive in Bloomingdale.

Wright is director of clinical training and anxiety services at Linden Oaks Behavioral Health.

GPS is generously sponsored by the Cebrin Goodman Center, Cooperative Association for Special Education (CASE), College of DuPage, DuPage Medical Group, Emmy Gaffey Foundation and Trust Company of Illinois.
