WACO and GameWorks Tackle Poverty from the Bottom Up

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization (WACO) and GameWorks have teamed up for a cause they hope the community will get behind. It's a diaper drive to benefit impoverished families in the Northwest suburbs.

Drop off a package of 20 or more disposable diapers at GameWorks, 601 N. Martingale, Schaumburg, and receive a 1-hour game card. The drive runs from now through August 27.

"Diapers are the most requested, yet least donated item at food banks," says WACO Director Angie St. Paul. "Most people don't know that they're not covered by food stamps," she adds.

WACO Treasurer Clayton Black says, "We know it's hard for people to get excited about a diaper drive, so we hope the great offer from GameWorks will entice them to get behind this cause. It's a win for the families WACO serves, and for the people who donate the diapers."
