Local girl earns a roster position on USSSA Futures All American Team in Orlando this summer

"On behalf of USSSA and the USA Elite Select Staff, we would like to congratulate McKayla Anderson on being named a Direct Selection for the Great Lakes Regional Teams."

This selection has earned her a roster position on either the American League or National League team for her age division. She will be informed of her team placement during the Selection Show for the Southeast Region on May 31st, 2017 at 8:00 pm ET. The Futures All American Games will be played in Kissimmee, Florida, July 31-Aug. 5. She was one of the top three players that tried out for the Great Lakes Region read the email McKayla's mother, Dawn Jackson received just recently.

McKayla has played softball on the Algonquin Area Youth Recreational softball team for three years and is currently playing with the 10-U Crush Tidalwaves Travel Softball Team out of Cary, Illinois, under head coach Mike Chmiel. I would like to thank and give credit to her pitching coach Amanda Eissler for all her time, hard work, and dedication to strengthening and honing McKayla's abilities making her a fierce competitor on the field.

This is a great opportunity for McKayla to step up to a higher level of competition, as she and her team will be playing in the Northern NAFA National tournament in Bloomington, Minnesota the week before the Futures All American Games in Orlando.

In McKayla's first tournament of the season, she pitched 2 games facing 35 batters, striking out 26, walking 3 and allowing 1 hit. Since the Spring season started she has faced 129 batters, striking out 76, walking 11 and allowed 12 hits.

McKayla is an amazing young lady who plays with everything she's got on and off the field. She has a strong character, a compassionate heart for those in need, an excellent student in school and is a good friend to many.

As a result of playing at a higher level of competition, the family is seeking financial sponsorships to help with the expenses of getting to and staying in the Orlando area.
