Join annual Mooseheart Easter egg hunt April 8
When you've got 18,000 eggs to fill with goodies, you have to plan ahead, so preparation began weeks ago for Mooseheart's seventh annual Easter Egg Hunt. The free event, which is open to the public, will be Saturday, April 8, on the campus' artificial turf football field. Children and families typically collect those 18,000 eggs and other goodies in less than five minutes into the egg hunt. More than 4,000 local children younger than age 8 are expected to attend this year's Easter egg hunt.
Gates open at 10 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. egg hunt. There are separate egg hunts for children aged 1-2; 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. Activities following the egg hunt conclude at 1 p.m.
Once the egg hunt ends, families head to the Mooseheart field house for free photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting and other activities. Families can also enjoy pony rides and a petting zoo on the grass outside the football stadium.
"It's always so amazing that we do all this work for weeks and many hours before gates open on the day of the Easter Egg Hunt. Then it's '3, 2, 1, boom!' - and before you know it, it's over with. But then you sit back and smile. We do all this so families and their children can have an enjoyable family experience," said Mooseheart Executive Director Gary Urwiler.
