Concert to kick off Glenbard centennial celebration

A very exciting orchestra event is coming to Glenbard District 87 on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The Stringfest orchestra event includes nearly 500 students from Glenbard East, Glenbard South and Glenbard West high schools, as well as Glen Crest Middle School, Glenn Westlake Middle School, Hadley Junior High School and Marquardt Middle School. Students will rehearse during the day at Glenbard East with expert clinicians and will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Glenbard East, 1014 S. Main St. in Lombard.

The highlight of this event is the premiere of a new piece of music, "Praescientia," by Kirt Mosier that was composed for Glenbard District 87 in honor of the 100th anniversary of Glenbard Township High Schools in 2016. Mosier will be in attendance to conduct the students on this new piece.

Admission to the concert is $3 for adults, $2 for students and senior citizens and free with the Glenbard District 87 activity pass.
