Palliative Care/Hospice Workshop set for Aug. 20

The Cancer Wellness Center will present "Caring Options: Palliative Care, Hospice, Comfort and Dignity" on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 215 Revere Drive in Northbrook.

Dr. Mary Mulcahy and Dr. Martha Twaddle will join WGN's Randi Bellisomo to discuss the difficulties in making a transition from curative, disease-directed therapy to end of life comfort care.

This free program will explain the differences between hospice and palliative care, financial models for care coverage and where and how to receive such services.
