Take a spin around historic racetrack at RaceWay 5K Fun Run/Walk

The Rotary Club of Carpentersville-Morning invites the community to join the third annual RaceWay 5K Fun Run & Walk. It will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the historic Meadowdale International Raceways in Raceway Woods, off Route 31 and Huntley Road in Carpentersville. It will be held rain or shine.

Cost is $30 per person. Register by July 26 to receive your free official RaceWay 5K T-shirt.

Run or walk through the historic racetrack and experience all the curves, straightaways, embankments, and hills this race has to offer.

Crossroads Events will offer official RFID Chip Timing for this year's race.

Online registration is open through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at www.raceway5k.com. Or stop by Main Street Bicycles, 39 E. Main St. in Carpentersville, by Friday, Aug. 14, to register in person.

Registration and sign-in begins at 6:30 a.m., with the race at 8 a.m. Join in the "Finish Line Fiesta" from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The top 3 male and female finishers will be awarded special RaceWay 5K prizes and medals. In addition, the top 3 male and female finishers for the specified age groups will be awarded medals for winning the age group.

The proceeds generated from the RaceWay 5K event will benefit the operations and charities of the Rotary Club of Carpentersville-Morning. It is a local chapter of an international organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the local community, national community and international community through various avenues of service.
