Believe Project: $100 for nun who works to promote Mideast peace

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Evelyn Milano of Arlington Heights.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"Her name is Sister Paulette Schroeder. She is 70 years old and she works tirelessly for peace in the Middle East. She goes around (mostly in Ohio) to various organizations, bringing her message of how the ordinary person can help effect peace in this troubled part of the world. For three years she lived among the people in Palestine, helping to shepherd their flocks of sheep, sleeping in the fields with them and whatever else she could do as one person. For the past couple of years she has led groups over to Palestine to try to help them understand what they can do toward this effort. Every year she organizes fund drives and has participated in several protest marches to help bring this matter to the forefront of governmental agencies who might be able to help.

"I feel that Sister Paulette embodies all that St. Francis meant when he asks us to love all our 'neighbors.'

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
