Believe Project: $100 to a couple suffering from mental illness

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Liza Johnson of Wauconda.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"I would give the money to a mentally ill couple whose benefits were recently cut by the government. The clinic they used to go to to meet with a caseworker who would help them obtain their medications to remain stable has been closed. They cannot afford public transportation to a clinic farther away where they can receive counseling and direction on how to obtain their meds and find out which meds are still being paid for by the government with all the recent cuts to mental health. They are lost and need financial help to keep their minds stable."

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
