Lemon Poundcake

2 sticks (1 cup) butter

4 eggs

4 cups flour

2 cups sugar

2 cups milk

4 teaspoons baking powder

1 bottle (2 ounces) lemon extract

Powdered sugar, for garnish

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease and flour a bundt pan or tube pan.

Melt butter. Add to a large bowl with the eggs, flour, sugar, milk, baking powder and lemon extract. Mix all ingredients with electric mixer till thick. Pour into prepared pan and bake 1 hour.

Sprinkle with a dusting of powdered sugar while cake is still warm, then dust again before serving.

Serves 16.
