Free Bankruptcy Seminars
Timothy Hughes, a Partner at Lavelle Law, Ltd. in Palatine will be hosting a series of seminars in February and March to assist individuals who are considering filing for bankruptcy as a solution to debt or other financial concerns.
The seminars are free to the public, but advanced registration is required. The one-hour sessions will take place at the Lavelle Law offices at 501 West Colfax in Palatine at 7:00 p.m. on February 18, March 4 and March 18. To register for any of the free seminars, interested individuals should contact Heather at 847-705-7555.
“Filing for bankruptcy is a difficult and personal decision but for many people and businesses it is the right course of action,” said Hughes who has been assisting clients with tax and bankruptcy issues for more than two decades. “The seminar setting allows us to cut through the fear a little bit and really focus on the advantages and impacts of a successful bankruptcy case. We provide an environment for open dialogue that allows people to then feel comfortable following up with their attorney to make an informed decision.”
In addition to being an attorney who is certified to practice before the U.S. Tax Court, Hughes has a CPA background and has served in leadership roles on various Chicago Bar Association and Northwest Suburban Bar Association committees. He publishes a monthly newsletter Tax News on the Tenth and is a regular contributor to the “Chicago’s Legal Latte” podcast series on BlogTalkRadio.
“We welcome anyone who wants to better understand what bankruptcy really offers and the relief it can provide,” Hughes said. “It can be a very beneficial hour if for no other reason than to initiate dialogue and create a comfort level for the individual.”
