Rolling Meadows improves to 4-0
The Rolling Meadows girls basketball team improved to 4-0 in the Lake Zurich Turkey Thriller with a 58-30 victory over Mid-Suburban East rival Elk Grove on Tuesday night at Lake Zurich High School.
Senior guard Jackie Kemph scored a game-high 19 points while classmates Jenny Vliet (15) and Alexis Glasgow (12) also made it into double figures for the Mustangs.
Elk Grove (1-4) was paced by Alex Masnica (10 points), Melissa Solorio (8) and Amber Lindfors (7).
Meadows led 12-9 after one quarter but pulled away to a 40-22 lead at intermission.
Glasgow had 3 3-pointers in the middle quarters while Kemph and Vliet each added 2.
Kemph handed out 7 assists while Glasgow was the top rebounder for Meadows with 6. Ashley Montanez had 4 rebounds.
St. Viator 71, Crystal Lake South 45: Senior guard Erin Fabbri scored 25 points 8 field goals, 7-of-8 free throws, 2 3-pointers) as the Lions improved to 3-1 in the Dundee-Crown Thanksgiving tournament.
Jessica Hohlweg added 10 points for Viator while Susie Moynihan and Kayne Stanley each chipped in 8.
Wheeling 44, Taft 41: Wheeling (2-2) improved to 2-1 in the Niles North Thanksgiving Tournament as junior guard Deanna Kuzmanic scored 15 points with 9 rebounds.
Hannah Dobrowski added 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 2 assists while Nicole Zlotnikova and Lani Greenberg each had 4 rebounds.
Hampshire 50, Hoffman Estates 38: Monraia Wilson (10 points), Mary Saitta (8) and Andrea Wolinski (7) led the Hawks (0-4), who also received 4 rebounds and 4 points from freshman Maya Bowens in the nonconference game at Hampshire.
