Oakbrook Terrace Park District and NEDSRA will hold its 23rd annual Summer Kickoff & Fishing Derby. This FREE EVENT is held on the day that the State of Illinois does not require a fishing license. Plenty of fish helpers are available to teach you how to cast, bait your hook, and catch-and-release the fish. Fishing poles are available for loan and Powerbait is available for $1.00 for 25 pieces. Register now and receive a free gift when you show up to grab a fishing pole.
After a few hours of fishing, a free cookout will be served to 300 people thanks to the generosity of Anyway's Restaurant in Oakbrook Terrace. You must pre-register to insure your meal at the cookout. Plenty of games, contests, and prizes for all ages will also be featured. So bring the family, plenty of sunshine and sunscreen, and let's meet down by the “fishin' hole”.
