Elk Grove, Barrington deliver victories

Adam O'Malley and Petar Arbov doubled, and Alex Tinkoff kept host Prospect's bats under control as Elk Grove earned a 5-2 victory at Prospect on Tuesday.

Elk Grove (16-4, 6-1) had a 4-run rally in the third inning and did not commit an error. O'Malley and Arbov each had 1 RBI.

Jackson Wrede doubled for Prospect (2-11, 1-7), which had 6 hits.

Barrington 10, Hoffman Estates 0 (5): The visiting Broncos extended their perfect start against Mid-Suburban League foes with a five-inning road victory.

Barrington lashed out for 16 hits and Wyatt Trautwein tossed a 1-hitter with 6 strikeouts.

Leading producers at the plate for the Broncos (14-7, 8-0) included Dylan Lidge (3-for-4, RBI), Ryan Lidge (3 RBI), Scott Nelson (2-for-3, RBI), Joe Sciaccotta(3-for-3) and Macray Poidomani (3-for-3).

Hersey 7, Buffalo Grove 1: David Milligan, Quentin Jedd and Eric Labahn had 2 hits apiece as the Huskies won an MSL East game at BG.

Starter Mark Witzke went 6 innings for Hersey (6-11, 4-4), allowing 5 hits and striking out four. Labahn provided 1 inning of scoreless relief.

Luke Potnick went the distance for Buffalo Grove; only 2 of the runs he allowed were earned as the Bison (6-9, 4-4) committed 5 errors. Mike DiViesti had 3 of BG's 6 hits.

York 8, Rolling Meadows 7: The visiting Mustangs led 4-0 after batting in the top of the third inning, but the Dukes pushed 7 runs across in the bottom of the inning and went on to claim victory in the nonconference contest as Meadows (8-8-1) lost by a single run for a second straight day.

Palatine 5, Schaumburg 2: The Pirates won on the road to improve to 10-8-1 overall and 3-2 in the MSL West. Schaumburg fell to 4-7, 1-5.

Jarrod Juskiewicz and Bill Stewart doubled, Greg Grana had 2 hits and Neal Ori drove in 2 runs for the Pirates.

Winning pitcher Nolan Gavin (4-0) tossed a complete-game 5-hitter with 6 strikeouts and no walks to lower his ERA to 2.13.

Ryan Woloszyk had 2 hits for Schaumburg (4-7, 1-5) and Josh Rahn drove in both Saxons runs.
