Fullersburg Historic Foundation Presents “Loie Fuller-Dancing in the Light Fantastic” December 1st

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of “La Loie”, “once the most famous dancer in the world…” who was born in Old Fullersburg. “Loie Fuller-Dancing in the Light Fantastic” a film about the life of Loie Fuller directed by Michael Dutka, MOMENTA Dance Company. December 1, 2012 1:30 PM at the Oak Brook Library, 600 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook.

This 1-hour film takes you through her humble beginnings in the American Midwest, and follows her meteoric rise to the top of the international stage at the Paris Exposition of 1900. It will be presented by Merril Doty, one of the dancers featured in the film, and director Michael Dutka. They will bring costumes from the film for your viewing.

This is a free Living History Program presented by The Fullersburg Historic Foundation. Members of the foundation are working to restore the historic c 1840 Ben Fuller Farmhouse located just east of the Graue Mill in Oak Brook.
