Happy that Moylan will decline pension

With Springfield in a constant state of gridlock, I look for candidates who are committed to leading by example and walking the walk. The other day I spoke to Marty Moylan, candidate for state representative of the 55th District, at my home while he was going door-to-door.

As the issue of pensions came up, it was refreshing to hear that Mr. Moylan would opt out of his pension if elected this November. He stressed how important it is that elected officials must first look at their own benefits before asking others to do the same.

While his opponent has failed to take the same approach, instead opting to keep her pension if elected, Marty Moylan is showing yet again that he is the type of proven leader needed in Springfield.
