AT & T Reconnect Tour Connects with Seniors at Windsor Park in Carol Stream – Second Day Added on October 11

Senior citizens are more than ready to stay connected via new technology such as smartphones and tablets. Windsor Park, A Covenant Retirement Community, found that out when the 120 spots for the first day of a free educational workshop filled up quickly.

Because of the demand, the continuing care retirement community in Carol Stream added a second Senior TechRally™ on Thursday, Oct. 11. The no-cost, hands-on educational workshop introduces seniors to the simplicity of today’s mobile technology.

The AT & T Reconnect Tour, in alliance with Senior TechRally™, walks participants through basic functions of modern devices, teaching them to stay connected with loved ones via smartphones and tablets. According to a news release from Senior TechRally™, topics include text messaging, apps, video calling, e-books and photo sharing.

The event, at Windsor Park, 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream, runs from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Lunch is included for participants. Seniors who are interested should contact Val King at (630)510-4702 or via email VPKing@coventantretirement.org as soon as possible.

Windsor Park was one of the locations hosting the inaugural TechRally tour in 2011. Because of the positive reviews from their residents, they agreed to host this year’s tour as well. For more information about the event, contact Marissa Samaan, Windsor Park Marketing Director, at (630)510-4704 or email her MASamaan@covenantretirement.org.

About AT & T Reconnect Tour in alliance with Senior TechRally™:

In the Fall of 2011, MME (www.mmelive.com) partnered with AT&T to bring Senior TechRALLY ™ to Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) in the North Central USA. Because of the positive response by seniors, a National Tour was launched. The 2012 AT&T Reconnect Tour is traveling coast to coast, with a footprint five times as big as the first one, with more devices, more people, and most importantly, an accelerated ambition to make real change in the lives of seniors.
