Chicago Bear D.J. Moore to lead free Kids Fitness Clinic Sept. 24 at Midtown Palatine

Chicago Bears cornerback D.J. Moore will host a free fitness clinic for boys and girls and speak about the benefits of leading an active, healthy lifestyle from 4:00-5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 24, at Midtown Athletic Club, 1760 N. Hicks Rd., in Palatine.

This free event is open to kids ages 6-14, and serves as the official kick-off for the 10th annual Midtown 5K Run & Walk to benefit Bears Care. Midtown membership is not required to participate.

The Bears are an active supporter of both the Midtown 5K Run & Walk and Fuel Up to Play 60, which helps students eat right and stay active while empowering kids to make smart choices about nutrition and physical activity. D.J. will help lead the 60-minute clinic while talking about the importance of nutrition and staying active. He'll also sign autographs and answer questions.

The Midtown 5K Run & Walk will be held on Saturday, September 29 and has raised more than $175,000 for Bears Care, the official charity of the Chicago Bears. Bears Care is committed to improving the quality of life for people in the Chicagoland community, especially disadvantaged children and their families, through targeted programs supporting education, youth athletics, medical research and health awareness programs.

Registration for the Midtown 5K is now being accepted at signmeup.com/81220 or by mail through September 22. Race day registration will take place starting at 6:45 a.m.
