Author to speak on 'I'm From Division Street' Oct. 14 at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El

Author, attorney and boxer Kenneth N. Green will discuss and personally sign copies of his book, "I'm From Division Street," at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, 1175 Sheridan Road, Highland Park.

Kenneth N. Green was kicked out of Roosevelt High School. A half-year later, he was allowed to return and finally graduated after four and one half years. He made a comeback after graduating from Roosevelt. His book tells how he rebounded from poverty and academic problems growing up in Humboldt Park to his success as a defense attorney, Chief of Public Defenders in Los Angeles County, a boxer inducted into the California Hall of Fame, Adjunct Professor at UCLA, and single parent of a son.

I'm From Division Street also vividly describes the Humboldt Park neighborhood where the author grew up and profiles famous and successful Jewish people who had their roots in that neighborhood. The book is now being sold at Barnes& Noble Booksellers, Barnes&Noble.com, Barbara's Bookstore, and Amazon.com. and other retailers worldwide.
