Job ‘boot camp’ gave him info he needed

I am writing to express my appreciation to state Rep. Michelle Mussman for hosting the recent “Job Boot Camp” at the Schaumburg Township District Library.

As a recent graduate, the information was very helpful in regards to finding out what potential employers are looking for concerning resumes and cover letters. There were several helpful tips about interview preparation and how to best prepare for a job fair.

Many attendees were experienced, displaced workers looking for information on how to search for jobs during this difficult time. The workshop reached a varying demographic from new college graduates to people who are looking for a career change.

It is nice to know that so many people are getting the help they need, despite unfortunate circumstances. The event was only supposed to run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. but Rep. Mussman and the DeVry University career development staff stayed after 9:30 p.m. to help those interested in having their resumes reviewed.

It is a difficult time for recent graduates and for people suddenly finding themselves unemployed. I hope that there will be more events like this to help people looking for gainful employment. I have already started using the information provided through this event, and I want to once again thank state Rep. Michelle Mussman for hosting such a critical service for our community.
