New tool on DCHD's website makes it easy to find food recalls

DUPAGE COUNTY—The DuPage County Health Department has added a new tool (widget) to its website that makes it much easier for County residents to find out the latest information on food recalls, either locally or elsewhere in Illinois or the nation.

This website feature allows visitors to get the most up-to-date information on food recall notices with only one click of the mouse. Food recalls occur frequently at the local, regional and national levels, depending on products, brands and manufacturers involved.

There are a number of federal agencies that issue food recall notices and manufacturers often issue their own food recall notices. The website feature on our website is a good, single source for food recall notices, although food recalls may be issued by other sources.

Details about food recalls change as more information is obtained about additional food products that may contain the suspect food item so check the recall list frequently as information changes.

Visit http://www.dupagehealth.org/food-safety for current information. The “Food Safety” widget is in the lower, right hand side of the page.
