Nick Orslini homered, doubled and knocked in 4 runs, and three pitchers combined on a 2-hit shutout, as Warren’s baseball team blanked visiting York 6-0 in a nonconference game Thursday.
Pat Kenney also had 2 hits, including a double, for Warren (15-11). Starting pitcher Adam Reuss helped his own cause with a double.
Reuss pitched the first 3 innings, allowing only 1 hit, while striking out three and walking four. Kyle Kennedy also threw 3 innings of 1-hit ball, and Jason Gissendaner finished up on the mound for the Blue Devils.
Stevenson 6, Lakes 1: Scott Irving pitched a complete-game 5-hitter, striking out four and walking three for the host Patriots in the North Suburban crossover.
Will Bourbon and Jack Karras (double, 2 RBI) were both 2-for-3 for Stevenson (18-9), while Max Golembo went 2-for-4. Adam Waltton added a double for the Patriots.
Lakes fell to 16-14.
Wauconda 15, Johnsburg 4: Jake Ziolkowski was 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI, John Kamakis went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 knocked in, and Jack Botheroyd had a 2-for-2 effort with 2 RBI, as the host Bulldogs won big.
Wauconda (18-9) also got doubles from Shawn Sundquist and David Diol in the nonconference game. Jeff Lindberg pitched 5 innings for the win.
Grayslake Central 14, Woodstock 4: Will Weinert (2-0) and Jack Spicer allowed only 1 earned run and struck out five, and the Rams pounded out 10 hits in the Fox Valley Conference game.
Nick Hosford had a pair of singles and scored 3 runs for Grayslake Central (15-1 FVC), which won its 22nd game.
Jay Kleinofen added 2 hits and 2 RBI, while Jon Gurchak and Brett Muhr both had doubles.
