Cary-Grove 4, CL South 2: Ryan Kaveney threw a 3-hitter with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk to run his record to 6-0 for the season as the Trojans (13-6, 7-0) won their ninth straight game in this Fox Valley Conference Valley Division contest. Nick Beyer was 2-for-2 and Kaveney drove in a run for Cary-Grove. Dylan McDonough had the go-ahead RBI for the Trojans in the sixth inning. Max Meitzler had a home run for the Gators (13-7, 5-2) and Jordan Van Dyck (6-1) suffered his first loss of the season, allowing 8 hits with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Prairie Ridge 4, Huntley 3: Jordan Getzelman hit a 3-run homer for Prairie Ridge that did in the Red Raiders in this FVC Valley game. Huntley (11-8, 4-3) had just 4 hits in the game. Bryan Doherty (2-2) was the losing pitcher despite allowing just 6 hits with 13 strikeouts.

McHenry 4, Dundee-Crown 1: D-C had just 3 hits off McHenry’s Kevin Maher in this FVC Valley loss. Nick Lodi suffered the loss for the Chargers (6-9, 3-4).

College baseball

Judson 11, Robert Morris 8: Judson scored 8 runs in the seventh inning to down Robert Morris 11-8 in CCAC play. Brian Brauer’s 2-run single was the game-winner for the Eagles. Craig Lipp had 2 RBI, Johnny Amann was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and Cameron Balough drove in 2 runs for the Eagles (37-9, 22-3). Cody Love picked up the win and T.J. Swank the save for Judson.
