FREE Earth Day Celebration at Wheeling Park District CRC

The free Earth Day Celebration Sunday, April 22, from 1 to 4 PM, at the Wheeling Park District Community Recreation Center (CRC) will focus on our beautiful planet and what we can do to take care of it.

Featuring games and activities for all ages, the community event will include hands-on nature displays, yoga demonstrations, kite making and kite flying, seed planting, and appearances by Ricky Recycle, Petie the Polar Bear, and Willie the Whale. A Master Gardener from the Wheeling Garden Club will answer gardening questions and books about the environment from Indian Trails Public Library will be available for check out on site. Refreshments also will be available at the event.

Guests are encouraged to keep small electronics and gym shoes out of landfills by bringing them to the CRC for recycling. Cell phones, laptops, cameras, MP3 players, GPS devices, radar detectors, and inkjet cartridges will be accepted. In addition, old gym shoes may be dropped off for the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program.
