Baseball/Fox Valley roundup

The baseball teams from Jacobs and Dundee-Crown got together Wednesday for a nonconference wood bat game and the Golden Eagles came away a 9-2 winner.

Connor Conzelman was 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI for Jacobs (4-5), Greg Sidor was 2-for-3 and Zac Camacho had a double. Max Rider (1-1) was the winning pitcher for the Eagles.

Jake Romano went 2-for-4 and Dylan Kissack was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Chargers (3-5-1). Erik Brewer (1-2) suffered the loss.

Westminster Christian 1, Rockford East 0: Clay DeHaan tossed a 1-hitter for the Warriors (6-3) in this nonconference win. Dylan Scully was 2-for-3 with a double and Ryan Perez had a double and an RBI for Westminster.

Montini 9, St. Edward 5: Jake Lafrenz had a home run and 2 RBI for St. Edward (7-8, 2-1) in this Suburban Christian loss. Michael Castro (2B), Tighe Koehring (2B, RBI) and Ryan Nudd (2-for-3, RBI) led the St. Edward offense. Austin Davis was the losing pitcher.

McHenry 11, Burlington Central 1: Tanner Scott’s home run was one of just 2 Burlington Central hits in this nonconference loss. Ryan Schuring (1-2) suffered the loss for the Rockets (7-5).

CL South 7, Marian Central 1: Dom Winiecki had a home run and 4 RBI and Tyler Salm was 2-for-4 to lead the Gators (8-4) in nonconference play. Winning pitcher Jordan Van Dyck (4-0) also added a triple for Crystal Lake South.

Sycamore 10, Hampshire 9: Tyler Crater had 3 RBI to lead the Hampshire offense in this tough nonconference loss. Jacob Kuhn took the loss for the Whip-Purs.
