Records fall for Rodriguez in BG’s victory

Buffalo Grove senior Ian Rodriguez broke the school and pool records in the 200-yard IM on Friday as the host Bison earned a 124-59 victory over Palatine in Mid-Suburban League competition.

Rodriguez won the IM in 1:58.87, and he also set a pool record in the 100 breastroke, winning in 1:00.19 — a time that missed the school record by only three one-hundredths of a second.

Matt Schulstad won the 200 and 500 freestyles for the Bison, who won all three relays.

Palatine had individual winners in Mitchell Brustad (100 fly) and Robert Hank (100 backstroke).

Wheeling’s individual winners were Dan Shriber (200 IM, 100 back), Mike Boom (100 fly), and Lukasz Szczepaniec (500 free).
