North Chicago edges Lakes in double OT

Direll Clark scored 26 points, but Lakes’ boys basketball team surrendered 31 points to Aaron Simpson and lost to North Chicago 90-86 in double overtime Friday night.

Lakes fell to 6-5 and 3-1 in the North Suburban Prairie Division.

Vernon Hills 58, Wauconda 38: Darren Hoveydai scored 21 points, including three 3-pointers, for the host Cougars in the North Suburban Prairie Division contest.

MJ Crowley added a season-high 12 points for Vernon Hills (5-4, 2-1).

Wauconda (4-5, 1-3) was led by Kyle Ryan with 19 points (four 3-pointers), 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
