FVR Performing Arts Academy had a ball at Shannon Hall

Nearly 100 Fox Valley Rep supporters were excited to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the academy at the 2nd Annual Masquerade Ball at Shannon Hall in Batavia on Saturday, October 15, 2011.

The celebration included food sponsored by Two Brothers Brewing Company, music, dancing, costume contests, 45 different silent auction packages, and student performances by Kaia Ebel of Geneva, Brenna D'Amico of Plainfield, and Lily Defino of St. Charles.

"In just five years, the academy has accomplished tremendous growth in programming and quality of programs. A number of our students have made their professional debuts on stage, commercials, and been accepted to professional training academies. We are so proud of all our growth," says Tracy Whiteside, Education Manager.

Academy Student Kaia Ebel of Geneva debuted on the Fox Valley Rep stage three years ago when she was just six years old, and is excited to have been chosen as featured performer at the Masquerade Ball and cannot wait to perform amongst her peers.

“This event successfully raised over $5,000 from the support of our sponsors and community members to celebrate the achievements of the students, parents, and staff over the past five years,” says Development Manager Scott Piner of St. Charles.

Three dedicated Academy families were recognized for their outstanding commitment to the Academy, which were Michelle Das and family (of St. Charles), Susan Keldani and family (of South Elgin), and Ross & Laura Troyan (of Hanover Park). FVR Student Maegan Daniels of West Chicago was awarded for her dedication to the Academy as well.

Sponsorship came from five local businesses: Two Brothers Brewing, On Track Transportation, Inc.; Rotary Club of St. Charles; Panera Bread of St. Charles, and the Kane County Chronicle.

The Fox Valley Repertory Performing Arts Academy is a non-profit organization and features some of the Chicago area's most respected teachers, directors, actors and musicians, and is home to over 1,000 local youth students and offers the most extensive curriculum in the Fox Valley area: classes, camps, workshops, youth ensemble productions, and internship/apprenticeship programs.
