Elgin tournament

South Elgin goes 3-2: Ashley Oandasan had 36 kills and 40 digs and Ali Osborne added 25 kills and 6 aces to lead South Elgin at the Elgin tournament. The Storm (10-17-1) defeated Highland Park, Dundee-Crown and Elgin and lost to Rolling Meadows and Leyden. Racel Murray added 31 digs, Amanda Nadler had 22 kills and Maggie Jakaitis added 61 assists and 25 digs for the Storm.

Elgin 1-4: Bri Hamilton had 22 kills, 6 blocks, 7 digs and 6 aces for the Maroons, who defeated Leyden but lost to Highland Park, Rolling Meadows, Dundee-Crown and South Elgin. Tanya Welch added 17 digs and 63 assists for the Maroons (6-27), while Jackie Shioli had 14 kills and Monica Stockman added 15 kills and 8 blocks.

Dundee-Crown 2-3: Alexa Shemanske had 27 kills and 6 aces, Rebekah Hischke added 26 kills and Jillian Hostetler had 17 as the Chargers defeated Highland Park and Elgin but lost to Leyden, Rolling Meadows and South Elgin. Cori Eischer added 85 assist for D-C (6-22) while Cassie Sommers had 34 digs and Carlin Faulkner 22.

Burlington at Lincoln-Way Central: The Rockets went 2-3 at Lincoln-Way Central, defeating Oak Lawn and Andrew but losing to L-W Central, Homewood-Flossmoor and Lincoln-Way West. Hayley Brake (29 kills), Lexie Bouza (28 kills), Hannah Yoder (21 kills), Samantha Bohne (96 digs, 78 of 79 serve receive), Allie O’Reilly (107 assists, 30 digs, 6 aces) and Brenda Thasavong (30 blocks, 21 kills) also contributed for the Rockets (20-13).

Westminster Christian d. Elgin Academy: Cara Tyrell had 5 aces, 5 kills and 9 digs and Whitney Vanden Bos added 5 aces and 4 digs to lead Westminster (15-8) to a 25-17, 25-20 nonconference win over Elgin Academy. Bridgette Keslinke had 7 kills and 8 digs for Elgin Academy (12-12) and Angie Martinez added 14 assists.

Harvest Christian at Bradley: Sydney Doby earned all-tournament honors for the Lions at the Bradley-Bourbonnais tournament with 41 kills, 5 bocks, 4 aces and 19 digs. The Lions (18-11-1) defeated Romeoville and Morton and lost to United Township and Bradley. Sarah Kott added 21 kills, Kali Cramer had 12 kills, 3 aces, 29 assists and 11 digs and Kaitlyn Floyd added 34 assists and 17 digs for the Lions.
