Flu shots for eligible kids at special Saturday clinics

DUPAGE COUNTY—The DuPage County Health Department has scheduled three special Saturday clinics during October, November and December to offer flu shots to eligible children who qualify under the state's Vaccine For Children's guidelines.

Flu shots are available to children who have no insurance, have insurance that does not cover immunizations or are recipients of Medicaid and All Kids Health Insurance. The clinics are scheduled on Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17 at the Health Department's Wheaton office, 111 N. County Farm Road.

The flu shots will be given by appointment only. Please call the Health Department at (630) 682-7400 to make an appointment. There is a $15 fee for children not covered by Medicaid.

The Health Department also reminds DuPage County residents that immunization clinics offering a variety of vaccines, including flu shots, for adults and children are offered regularly at its Public Health Centers in Wheaton, Lombard and Westmont. Please call the Health Department for details on these clinics.
