'Realities of Poverty in DuPage County' Sept. 13
‘The College of DuPage Human Services department will host a free seminar, “The Realities of Poverty in DuPage County,” on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
The free program, moderated by Rep. Patricia R. Bellock, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon in SRC 2800. The program will include discussions on poverty in relation to the cost of living, what it means to be poor, changes in the demographics of poverty, programs available to meet “basic needs,” and government funding and philanthropy.
The program is sponsored by the College of DuPage Human Services department, cosponsored by the DuPage County Health Department and Family Shelter, and is presented by the DuPage Federation on Human Service Reform and DuPage Count Department of Human Services.
CEUs are available, and registration is not required to attend.
