Woodridge mayors honored by historical display

A recently completed project now displays sketches of Woodridge mayors since the incorporation of the village in 1959.

The framed sketches are on display in the hallway outside of the Werch Board Room located in Village Hall, 5 Plaza Drive, and include the Mayor's name and term (or terms) in office.

The sketches include Woodridge's seven previous Mayors and the current Mayor, William F. Murphy.

The historical display is intended to honor and commemorate the service of these individuals to the Woodridge community.

The project addresses a need identified during the village's 50th Anniversary in 2009, where the lack of an informational piece regarding Woodridge's Mayors was first identified.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to visit Village Hall to view the display.
