Be Greek for a Day at Greek Fest July 8-10

Annual festival celebrating Greek food and tradition has new date – July 8, 9 and 10!

If you're like most Lake County residents, you've been waiting all year for the start the annual Lake County Greek Fest…but the wait is shorter than in past years because the event has been moved from late summer to early July. This year's Lake County Greek Fest takes place on Friday, July 8 through Sunday, July 10 from 11 AM – 11 PM on the grounds of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville.

Record crowds showed up last year to Lake County Greek Fest's location at 1400 O'Plaine Road, south of Route 120 (Belvidere Road) and north of Route 137 (Buckley Road). The beautiful golden dome of the four-year-old St. Demetrios church can be seen from the I-94 Tollway.

This year's event will be a wonderful mix of Greek food including Lamb on the spit, Souvlakia (shish-kebab), Greek chicken, Gyros, Spanakopita (spinach pie), and more! There will also be delicious Greek pastries, games for the kids, Greek music and dancing!

Visitors can take part in tours of the beautiful Fifth Century design Byzantine church with the pastor, Father Cosmas Halekakis. Saint Demetrios is located at 1400 O'Plaine Road, Libertyville, IL (between Rt. 120 & Rt. 137). There is no admission to the event and FREE parking will be available on-site.
