Bartlett’s softball team pounded out 11 hits and junior Tori Burke tossed a 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Hawks downed Willowbrook 11-1 in five innings Monday in the play-in game of the Class 4A Glenbard North regional.

Bartlett (17-16) will take on No. 4 seed Glenbard North in Carol Stream in today’s semifinals.

Nicole Beck was 2-for-3 with a home run for the Hawks in Monday’s win, while Lisa Matsie (2B), Kaylyn Zierke (3-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) and Burke (2-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI also contributed.

“After we made some adjustments we finally got going in the fourth inning,” said Bartlett coach Jim Wolfsmith, whose team scored 9 runs in the bottom of the fourth to ice the win.

Hampshire 15, Woodstock 2: Jen Hurst fired a 2-hitter with 8 strikeouts t lead Hampshire (8-19) to a win in the play-in game of the Class 3A Hampshire regional. The Whip-Purs face top seed Marengo today. Grace Jakubowski (2 hits, 3B), Tiffany Bentley (3 hits, 2B), Kendall Walker (2 hits, 3B), Becca Vodrask (3 hits) and Jordan Hook (2 hits) led Hampshire’s offense Monday.

Cary-Grove 5, Marengo 0: The top-ranked Trojans (27-1) tuned up for the postseason with a nonconference win. Lindsay Efflandt (24-1) allowed 4 hits and struck out five for Cary-Grove. Alexis Haley (2-for-3, 2B), Lisa Semro (3-run HR), Sarah Leudo (2-for-3, 2B) and Jamie Deering (2B) led the offense.
