Wauconda’s girls soccer team is moving on in the state tournament.

The Bulldogs got a goal off a free kick 30 seconds into overtime to defeat host Vernon Hills 1-0 in the teams’ Class 2A regional final Friday night.

Wauconda will play Amundsen at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in a semifinal of the Lakes sectional.

Glenbrook North 5, Stevenson 3: At Glenbrook North, the host and third-seeded Spartans eliminated the sixth-seeded Patriots (9-7-5).

Glenbrook North (19-4-2) advances to the Glenbrook South sectional and will play Lake Forest at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
