Barrington finished its regular season on Wednesday with a 5-0 shutout win at Rolling Meadows.
The Fillies (25-10), who avenged a 7-5 loss to Meadows earlier this season, received a 6-hitter from Kiley Dolezal in the Mid-Suburban League second-place crossover.
The senior right-hander (21-7) struck out four while recording her sixth shutout of the season.
Barrington led 2-0 in the top of the sixth when senior Liz Owen belted a two-out homer to left field for a 4-0 lead.
Ally McLaughlin and Kiersten Tinkoff each went 2-for-4 for Barrington while Josie Suchecki (2-for-3) and Abby Matayka (2-for-3) led Rolling Meadows (17-15).
“It was a really well-played game,” said Mustangs coach Tony Wolanski. “We had our chances. We just couldn’t put the hits together.”
In the bottom of the sixth, the Mustangs had runners on first and second with no outs but Dolezal kept her shutout with two fielder’s choice outs and a strikeout.
Meadows sophomore Sara Brunlieb (14-8) struck out five.
Fremd 5, Buffalo Grove 2: Allie Gaeding (2-for-4), Caitlin Patenaude (2-for-3) and Michelle Mazur (double) led visiting Fremd (25-4-1) in the MSL third-place crossover game.
Vikings sophomore Ashlynne Schwantz (11-2) tossed a 6-hitter with 7 strikeouts while Maria Dax (12-10) struck out four for BG (14-13), which received a double from Andrea DiPrima.
Palatine 6, Hoffman Estates 3: Senior Joanne Jablonski tripled for visiting Palatine (21-9) which finished play in the MSL West at 9-7.
Winning pitcher Dani Boisvert improved to 16-8.
Kelsey Pellus tripled for Hoffman (6-23) and teammate Linden Fick doubled.
Schaumburg 11, Prospect 3: Winning pitcher Renee Kakareka (8-2) threw a 7-hitter with 7 strikeouts as visiting Schaumburg (15-10) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Becca Thompson and Briane Lingl (3-for-5, home run, 4 runs, RBI) each singled. Thompson scored on a wild pitch and Lingl scored on a sacrifice fly by Alyssa Lancaster (2-for- 5, 2 runs, RBI) for the 2-0 advantage.
Other top hitters for Schaumburg (15-10) were Jessica Cook (2-for-5, RBI, 3 runs) and Jenna Lane (3-for-4, 3-run homer).
Jamie Blankinship (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and Sam Mangrum (double) led the offense for Prospect (7-22).
Leyden 5, Morton 2: Morgan Maize was the winning pitcher for Leyden (24-6).
