The Grant sophomore broke the school’s season record for steals on Saturday when he rolled up 4 stolen bases in Grant’s 9-5 victory over Wilmot. Ring now has 36 stolen bases on the season, breaking the old school record of 33.

Ring also went 2-for-4 at the plate. The Bulldogs got 2 hits, including a double, from Tyler Gorski as well. And Jared Helmich drove in 2 runs.

Zach Niedrich got the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. He gave up just 1 hit in four innings.

Lake Zurich 5, Hersey 3: Lake Zurich has been struggling all season at getting hits with runners in scoring position.But not on Saturday against Hersey. The Bears (10-15) rolled up 8 hits, including key doubles from Mark Dorfman (2-for-2) and Jeremy Ruesch.Winning pitcher Mike Irgang had 5 strikeouts and just 2 walks in moving to 3-3 on the season. He rolled up 9 strikeouts and allowed just 1 walk and 3 hits in going the distance for the Eagles, who move to 15-12 on the season.

Meanwhile, senior A.J. Metzger also made the most of his special day. He had 2 hits and scored a run. Robert Nelson added a double for the Eagles.
