Antioch 9, Lakes 0: Antioch took over sole possession of first place in the North Suburban Prairie Division with the decisive win. The Sequoits have just 1 loss in division play while second-place Lakes and Vernon Hills each have 2 losses. Katie Phillips led the way with 2 hits while Amber Myslewiec and Sam Kozenski each had doubles. Antioch pitcher Olivia Duehr pitched all 7 innings and rolled up 12 strikeouts and gave up no walks. For Lakes, Sara Braden had 2 hits while Meghan Milewski had a double.
VH 8, Mundelein 0: Vernon Hills pitcher Megan Meline shut down Mundelein’s offense by striking out 11 batters and allowing no walks. She also gave up just 2 hits in 7 innings. Meline also had a double and an RBI.
LZ 12, Lake Forest 0: Lake Zurich jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning and cruised to the North Suburban Lake Division win. Paige Goldberg led the way with 4 of the Bears’ 10 total hits. She was 4-for-4 on the day, drove in a run and stole 3 bases. Kelly Neises was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, including a triple. She drove in 3 runs and also stole a base. Meanwhile Carlee Parsons finished with 2 hits and Maria Schroeder had a triple for the Bears, who move to 12-5 on the season.
Warren 10, Libertyville 0: Winning pitcher Jessica Demski went 5 innings and gave up only 3 hits and 1 walk in shutting down Libertyville. Megan Sowa and Marcee Olvera came up big at the plate for the Blue Devils, who move to 12-8 on the season. They each had 3 hits. Sowa had 2 doubles and Olvera drove in 2 runs. Paige Dombrowski added 2 hits for Warren, including a home run.
Stevenson 4, Wauconda 3: Down 4-0 after three innings, Wauconda rallied by scoring a run in each of the next three innings to pull the score to 4-3. But the Patriots managed to hold on for a victory. Alyssa Vechiola and Heather Cohen each had 2 hits for Stevenson, which moves to 11-4. Cohen had 2 doubles and teammate Ashley Niedermayer also added a double. Meanwhile, winning pitcher Katherine Trotter gave up just 1 walk in four innings. For Wauconda, Cara Nance had 2 triples while teammates Alex Kinnamon and Kasey Kruckenberg each had 1 triple.
Grayslake North 9, Grayslake Central 3: The Knights scored early and often, 4 runs in the first, 1 run in the second and 2 runs in the third to take a 7-0 lead heading into the fourth. Raquel Ness rolled up 3 hits for Grayslake North while teammates Kristi Gandy and Christina Freese each added 2 hits. Winning pitcher Kristi Gandy struck out 8 batters in seven innings. For Grayslake Central, Claire Brennan went 3-for-3 with a home run.
