St. Viator, Benet split

Late-inning rallies in each game led to St. Viator and Benet splitting their East Suburban Catholic Conference doubleheader Sunday in Lisle.

Derek Noel hit a sixth-inning grand slam in Game 1 as Viator (6-7, 1-1) won 8-6. Cory Kay and Cosimo Cannella also homered.

Benet (7-6, 1-1) scored 13 runs in the final two innings of a 14-7 win in Game 2. R.J. Gatto hit 2 homers, Andrew Jachna had a grand slam and Chris Stout homered.

Kay, Cannella and Chris Myjak homered for Viator in the second game.
