Crystal Lake repertory to hold auditions

Williams Street Repertory will hold open auditions for its inaugural 2011-12 season. Auditions will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 20 at Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams St. in downtown Crystal Lake.
The Repertory is looking for equity and nonequity actors; age 18 or older; all types are encouraged to audition; prepare a monologue and a song, or two short contrasting monologues, no longer than five minutes in total. Accompanist will be provided.
Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are strongly encouraged. To reserve an audition slot, contact Raue Center’s box office at 26 N. Williams St. in Crystal Lake or call (815) 356-9212.
Those auditioning will be considered for WS Rep’s season lineup as well as other WS Rep projects, including “GET LIT,” a short-story reading series engaging the community one story at a time. Callbacks may be held at a later date and time, and will be by invitation only.
The 2011-12 season will include: “The Rocky Horror Show” by Richard O’Brien on Oct. 21-29; “The Santaland Diaries” by David Sedaris, adapted by Joe Mantello, on Dec. 1-3; “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, on Feb. 10 and 11, 2012; a modern-day adaptation of “Romeo & Juliet” by William Shakespeare, on April 19-21, 2012; and a show yet to be announced on May 4-13.
Williams Street Repertory is a nonprofit organization in residence at Raue Center for the Arts and is dedicated to sustaining an artistic process of innovative and emotionally charged work. The repertory is committed to produce theatrical work dealing with contemporary issues that boldly challenge and entertain audiences.
