Rolling Meadows rebounds

Rolling Meadows didn’t have to wait long for a chance to bounce back from a loss to open its Mid-Suburban East baseball schedule.

The Mustangs (6-3) rallied Thursday for a 10-6 nonconference victory at St. Viator in Arlington Heights. Kevin Cwynar led the way by going 4-for-5 with a double.

Matt Hendricks went 3-for-5 with a double, Kyle Krzeski had 2 hits and a double and Eric Lowe had 2 hits as the Mustangs rebounded from Wednesday’s 11-3 loss to Buffalo Grove. Sophomore Matt Dennis got the victory to improve to 3-0.

Chris Myjak went 2-for-3 with a homer, Nick Prazuch was 3-for-4 with a triple and Cosimo Cannella had 3 hits for Viator (5-6).

Leyden 9, Proviso West 2: Leyden improved to 11-0 overall with the West Suburban Conference crossover victory.
