Burlington Central got a home run from Ray Hunnicutt and a double from Sam Klein Monday but fell to Centralia 8-4 in the Rockets’ first game of their spring trip.

After scoring 3 runs in the top of the first inning, BC (1-1) gave up 5 in the bottom of the second and could never recover.

Nick Hahn was the losing pitcher for the Rockets, who committed 8 errors in the game.

Huntley 5, Marengo 4: Colin Lyman (3B, RBI) and Bryce Only (RBI) had 2 hits each foe Huntley (1-0) in this eight-inning nonconference win. Bryan Doherty was the winning pitcher.

Cary-Grove 4, Murphysboro 1: Mark Byrne had 2 hits and an RBI and John Spoelstra allowed just 4 hits as the Trojans (2-1) won in the first game of their spring trip to southern Illinois.
