Vendors, crafters can apply for Blooming Fest event

Organizers of West Chicago Blooming Fest are gearing up for another blockbuster downtown event which will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21.

Currently, the focus is on attracting fine arts crafters, artists, food and garden-related vendors to share the 80-plus booth spaces with local businesses, live entertainment and children's activities. Booth space is competitively priced and the potential to connect with thousands of festival-goers has caused space to fill quickly and has resulted in a wait list the past several years.

Blooming Fest is a community event for West Chicago that has grown in size and stature over its eleven year history. It now has a following from many surrounding suburbs.

One of its big draws is the annual plant sale produced by the West Chicago Garden Club. The event is sponsored by the City of West Chicago, in cooperation with the West Chicago Park District, West Chicago Public Library, Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce, West Chicago Garden Club, local businesses and volunteer members of the community.

The 2011 Vendor Registration forms are available online at www.westchicago.org under "Forms," or by calling Krista Coltrin at (630) 293-2200 ext. 135. A musical slide-show which captures the spirit of last year's Blooming Fest is also available on the city's website under "Community/Special Events."
