Hot-shooting Stevenson handles Wauconda

Stevenson's girls basketball team shot a season-high nine 3-pointers to beat Wauconda 51-30 Friday night and end the Bulldogs' undefeated season.

Michelle O'Brien sank five 3-pointers and led the Patriots with 19 points. Anna Morrissey and Katie Batman added two 3-pointers apiece, scoring 8 and 6 points, respectively, for Stevenson (14-5).

"We came out very active and shot the ball really well," Patriots coach Tom Dineen said.

The Bulldogs were led by Tammy Ellis, who scored 13 points, and Melanie Prudhomme had 10. Roslyn Summerville grabbed 6 rebounds for Wauconda (15-1).

Grayslake North 41, Prairie Ridge 40: Katie McGrath, Jordyn Bowen and Brianna Leon hit key free throws in the fourth quarter to give the Knights their fifth win in six games.

Brooke Sauer scored 9 points for Grayslake North (6-11).
