Scouting report: With the teams from the Western Sun Conference separating and dispersing to different leagues, the Raiders will now be members of the Metro Suburban Conference. Their three top scorers graduated but Harks, who averaged 8.5 points, is a 6-foot-3 talent who can score in multiple ways. The Raiders are smaller but scrappier than last season, which means players like 6-6 Despot, who received valuable varsity minutes as a sophomore, and 6-4 Marshall need to hold their own in the post. The Raiders will rely more on transition points as defensive pressure sets up the offense. With Jeske and Berrospi, also expect more perimeter shooting. “I think we’ll definitely need to create our offensive opportunities with our defense,” Hardtke said.
