Trees, Libertyville stand tall vs. Regina
Libertyville's girls basketball team made it look easy Thursday night.
Savannah Trees scored 20 points, as the Wildcats rolled past Regina 72-17 in opening-round action of the Buffalo Grove Thanksgiving tournament.
Libertyville (2-0) also received 10 points from Kerry Risley and eight apiece from Olivia Wilcox and Kaca Savatic. The Wildcats jumped out to a 20-4 led after one quarter and were up 45-10 at halftime.
Round Lake 38, Harvard 25: At Harvard, Chanae Brown scored 12 points and Adriana Pitts added 10, as the Panthers opened tournament action by winning in Howard Conkling's debut as their head coach.
Wauconda 48, Richmond-Burton 37: At Marian Central, the Bulldogs won their tournament opener.
Melanie Prudhomme and Tammy Ellis led Wauconda (2-0) with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Maine South 44, Grayslake Central 42: At Buffalo Grove, the Rams lost their tournament opener.
Rebekah Llorens had 15 points and Skyler Jessop added 13 for Grayslake Central (1-1).
Oswego East 44, Mundelein 41: At Mundelein, the host Mustangs lost their first game in their own tournament.
Oswego East led 38-29 after three quarters and that was just enough to hang on for the win.
Olivia Dunigan led Mundelein (2-1) with 16 points. Amanda Davis added 12.
Barrington 61, Buffalo Grove 43: Senior Brooke Chandor, a 5-foot-11 senior scored, scored a game-high 19 points with five 3-pointers as Barrington posted a 61-43 triumph over the host school, Buffalo Grove.
Senior Shelby Whigham added 16 points for the Fillies while senior Sarah Mass and junior Nicole Collins both added 9.
