Art Show Features St. Theresa School at the Palatine Public Library

Artwork created by St. Theresa students is featured at the Palatine Library now through the end of November 2010. The artwork is available for viewing to all library patrons in the main display cabinets located on the main floor of the library. Patty Durkin, Art teacher at St. Theresa School, made selections from student creations that include cityscapes, still life, and people in action. St. Theresa students will also be featured in an annual art show during Catholic Schools Week. This upcoming annual event will be held starting on January 30, 2011 where Catholic Schools will celebrate the theme "A+ for America"! Art at St. Theresa School is available from Kindergarten through 8th grades with some art lessons being taught in correlation to core lessons. Previous science students studying constellations were able to paint their interpretation of "space" and constellations. St. Theresa also provides an after school art program to students interested in further art instruction and hands on projects. This is presented and taught through Sharon Lewert and her "After School Art" program.
